FOEPL meets formally four times a year, and informally when needed. FOEPL gained 501(c)3 status in 2015, so contributions are tax deductible.

Elkins Public Library
The Friends of Elkins Public Library (FOEPL) serves to support Elkins library, its librarians, and the library’s many programs.
FOEPL members who are interested can volunteer in a number of ways: They can help out at children’s programs, and provide refreshments for evening programs and open houses. They can raise money with book sales and other fundraisers to help meet unfunded library needs. They can also take part in other occasional volunteer work, such as weeding the library’s garden, shelving books, and setting up for library events.
But FOEPL members don’t have to volunteer; the only membership requirement is an interest in Canterbury’s library, which serves our community in so many ways beyond the lending of books.
(Annual membership fee is $5.)
